Evan clicked with the Apex Kart Track from the moment he did his track walk. “It’s like Rossi at Mugello,” he said. During practice, Evan smashed his goal of breaking 1 minute and started dipping into the low 58s by race day. He had a rough time during morning practice, crashing during both sessions, but his spirits were high for the races.
Troy (#29) got the hole shot for race 1, but Evan stayed with him. He waited for his opportunity and made a clean pass for the lead. He put his head down, hit his marks and gave it the gas. Little by little he developed a commanding lead and took the checkered flag by a good margin.
Race 2 started out the same way with Troy out front and Evan on his tail. Again, Evan waited for his opportunity and took Troy on the inside after the long front straightaway. Evan put down some more hot laps and took his second win of the day, sweeping the weekend!
