It was the final Minimoto USA event of the season. Evan had locked up the Minimoto Junior and Junior Overall championships at the previous round. That took a little pressure off of him for the weekend, but Evan had a new goal now: to finish with a podium in every one of his races this season. He just had two more to go.

It had been a while since Evan had been to Butonwillow, but he picked up the pace quickly on Friday. Unfortunately, Miles got sick, which prevented him from coaching Evan on Saturday morning before his first race. Evan didn’t get a great start and was shuffled back to 4th place. His all podium season goal was in jeopardy! He waited for the right moment to get around Emi (#16), and finally got the opportunity as they approached lapped traffic late in the race. He was able to finish on the podium in 3rd place, keeping his goal in play.

In his race on Sunday, Evan got a better start and settled into second place, pushing to make up ground on Errol (#39). Evan had been having trouble in the tight right hand turn after the chicane, and Troy (#29), capitalized on it by making an inside pass, taking 2nd place from Evan. Evan stayed on Troy, looking for an opportunity to take back the position, but wasn’t able to make it happen. Evan finished 3rd, making it official that he finished on the podium in every single one of his races in 2014. Not only that, but he was the Minimoto Junior and overall Junior champion! What a season!
